  1. I’ve been playing with the league for over 14 years. I’ve always taken on the responsibility of putting down the money each season, summer and winter. This year I put down the deposit and by the end of September 2020 Covid cases started to rise. We have 3 players over the age of 50 and I brought up my concerns to the league. A few days after the conversation the Government closed down in door sports. I asked Steve Edgar from TrueNorthHockey for my money back and he continues to say no. $1500 of my personal money he has under TrueNorthhockey and won’t return it since October2020. The season was suppose to start in October and never did. I have continued to ask for my money back and he continues to refuse. It’s very frustrating, this is not a small amount of money. He is really taking an interest free loan from the teams. I have asked him several times to return the funds and now I’m at a point where I must charge back interest, time and legal fees to get my money back. Very sad way to end 14 years. I don’t know if Steve Edgar fully realizes that the $1500 would have been used in registering the team as soon as it was safe to do so again. Now I will never return to a Truenorthhockey league knowing that they refuse to return funds when they clearly have no service to provide. He has a nice sum of money from the teams for the last 3 months with no sign of the league reopening. Very upsetting after playing here….all the responsibility falls on the team reps. Why would you do it? I know the love of the game……but sorry it’s not worth it when my family has to be out that amount of money and there is no league to play in. Still requesting my money back and for Steve Edgar to do the right thing. See you in court…..I won’t rest until I get my money back. To other team reps it’s a lot of money to be out.

  2. I have been playing in this league for years. Well run For the most part they do a great job at kicking out the idiots and the teams that are full of dicks. Refs are usually good but sometimes brutal. Found the same at Adult Safe only worse.

  3. The worst refs I have ever seen. This winter I got a chipped tooth and a broken rib and a penalty was not called either time. I have no idea which barrel they scraped the bottom of to find these hacks but they can’t control the game. It’s suppsed to be non contact and fun but the lack of proper officiating makes that not possible.

I have been playing or should I say paying at true north hockey for years. It started out fun but that changed. The ref’s are the worst I have ever seen. They never call the original call,. So game get out of hand and guys start fighting. Email the conveners and you get you don’t like it then to bad. I have played other leagues and they are much more fun and games don’t get out of hand. I would say stay away unless you want to waste money.

The league has gotten too big.
    They cant control it.
If your cheque clears the bank, you are in.
They dont want to kick out the bad teams, $8000 reasons why.
Good refs are hard to find.
Its the 1130pm games that are brutal.
